Green Growth London - exploiting opportunities in the green economy
What is Green Growth London?
Green Growth London is a package of six FREE workshops tailored to support businesses in London to minimise their environmental impact, become more efficient, reduce costs and attract new business by becoming more sustainable.
It can be tough to start and run a business and this course, in partnership with the British Library Business & IP Centre, will offer you exclusive access to the UK's most comprehensive collection of business and intellectual property information. Industry experts from Envirowise, Carbon Smart, Supply London, Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and many more will provide practical advice and support to help grow your business by adopting green practices.
Topics that will be covered include:
reducing the impact of your business on the environment- improving business efficiency
- complying with environmental legislation
- winning contracts
- effective marketing and networking
- access to finance and public funding
When?
The workshops will take place every Thursday from 10 January to 14 February 2008, from 9.30am – 4.30pm
Who can attend?
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and new businesses based in London are eligible to attend the Green Growth London workshops. There are up to 25 places available and priority will be given to those based in East London.
Are there any hidden costs?
There are no hidden costs. Green Growth Design is part of an initiative funded by the London Development Agency (LDA) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Why should I attend?
Attendees will learn how to improve their business credentials and performance. Introducing sustainable measures to your workplace can save you money and help win business. Customers are choosing to do business with companies who are actively reducing their impact on the environment, rather than those who are destroying it. Businesses attending at least five of the six workshops will be entered into a prize draw to win a gift hamper packed full of Remarkable recycled office products to get you started.
What is expected of me?
In order to get the maximum benefit from Green Growth London, we ask that you commit to attending at least five out of the six days; you may send a different member of your organisation to each of the workshops if you wish. Please note that there will be a charge of £25 for any delegates who cancel their place or do not attend at least five sessions without giving 14 days notice.
